Job Description
Job Summary (List Format): Teradata Developer
- Develop, optimize, and maintain Teradata SQL queries and BTEQ scripts for large-scale data warehouse solutions.
- Design, build, and manage ETL processes to ensure high performance, data integrity, and scalability.
- Utilize Teradata utilities (e.g., BTEQ, MLOAD, TPT) for efficient data loading and processing.
- Write and maintain Shell scripts to automate operational and data tasks.
- Develop and support Python scripts for data processing, transformation, and analytics.
- Monitor Teradata database performance; troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
- Perform query tuning and optimization for improved efficiency and resource utilization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Business, QA, DevOps) to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across data pipelines.
- Document technical designs, workflows, and best practices.
- Stay current with emerging technologies in Teradata, SQL, and cloud data platforms.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on Teradata development experience.
- Strong expertise in Teradata SQL and BTEQ scripting.
- Experience with Teradata utilities (MLOAD, TPT).
- Proficient in Shell scripting and Python programming.
- Experience in data warehouse design, development, and data pipeline management.
- Strong skills in query tuning, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience with cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, etc.).
