Summary Plans, directs, and implements the organization's safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through supervisors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Self-starter with leadership capabilities. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and implementation of safety programs in a manufactured housing facility. Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials. Prepares analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies. Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented. Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions. Aids in the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of findings and recommendations for reoccurrence. Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies. Assists in the administration of the workers' compensation program. Prepares and arranges safety exhibits and materials for display, promotional work, industry conferences, and exhibitions as needed. Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs. Maintains safety files and records, both written and on the computer. Ability to speak in front of groups and present training. Basic computer skills pertaining to job function. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications Manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to work with senior leadership team. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees, and vendors. Personal integrity and able to perform all job responsibilities in an ethical and non-discriminatory manner. Ability to retain confidential information. Problem-solving and reasoning. Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Excellent oral and written communication skills and can effectively communicate with all levels within the organization, customers, and corporate officials. Determination and assertiveness to accomplish goals and objectives.
