The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides psychiatric and medication management services to women participating in Mending Hearts’ full continuum of care, including detox, residential, and outpatient programs. This role requires advanced clinical competence in mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of co-occurring disorders, along with strong clinical judgment and collaboration with medical, behavioral health, and peer support staff.
In alignment with program and grant priorities, the PMHNP supports Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services, including psychiatric evaluation and medication management for clients receiving Vivitrol/Naltrexone and other appropriate therapies. The PMHNP plays a vital role in stabilizing mental health symptoms and supporting continuity of care as clients transition through levels of treatment and into long-term recovery.
