The Position

Under the direction of the Chairman, Art Department, serve as nude model for drawing, painting and sculpture classes; initiate, take, hold and remember specific poses for varying periods of time.

Major Responsibilities

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES :

Pose unclothed for a variety of art classes including drawing, painting and sculpture.

Take and hold a variety of well-designed and visually interesting poses.

Initiate an appropriate pose in conjunction with the instructor’s lecture.

Take a series of short poses varying in time from one to ten minutes to enable students to practice capturing quickly the essentials of an action or gesture.

Take and hold a pose without moving for twenty to twenty-five minutes; take a five minute rest and resume the pose; continue for entire class session or as directed.

Remember a pose exactly after rest periods; resume same physical position, angle and facial expression.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge:

Appropriate poses for drawing, painting and sculpture classes.

Basic design principles.

Well-designed and visually interesting poses.

Appearance, coordination and physical capabilities of a model’s body.

Skills and Abilities:

Pose in the nude for art classes.

Take and hold a pose without moving for up to twenty minutes.

Remember and resume poses exactly after rest periods.

Initiate appropriate poses in response to instructor’s lesson.

Understand the look and capacity of his/her body.

Provide own transportation and maintain complicated appointment schedule at various locations around the city.

Training and Experience:

Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above.

| SELECTED CANDIDATE IS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT :

Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment (Note: The certificate must be renewed every 4 years as a condition of continuing employment);

Have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer at the district’s expense (Clearance must be received prior to first day of employment); AND

Present original documents for proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
