JOB TITLE: Gardener Assistant

REPORTS TO: Gardener/Lead Engineering Technician

POSITION TYPE: Variable – Seasonal / Full Time

RATE OF PAY: $17.13 to 18.00/hour DOE

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 18 years of age. Must hold a valid Washington State driver's license.
• Must have enough English language skills to take direction, communicate and perform job standards.
• Willing to learn and do new jobs.
• Willing to listen and take directions and maintain a positive mental outlook.
• Self-motivated: can find work to do without supervision.
• Constant walking, standing, pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting, kneeling, bending, and stooping, during working hours.
• Able to safely lift to 50 pounds and carry loads on flat ground and occasionally carry items upstairs.
• Ability to safely operate small power tools.
• Plant knowledge is a plus.

Essential Functions:

• Arrive on time and be ready to work when shift begins.
• Prepare soil/ground and planter beds for spring flower planting.
• Plant, water, weed, and clean flower beds on a regular basis to maintain a clean, attractive resort environment.
• Water the grounds by hand and with manual valves.
  • Digging and repairing irrigation lines.
• Prune shrubs at appropriate times and as needed.
• Store tools in their proper places.
  • Follow all safety standards and use proper personal protective equipment.
• Wear a clean resort shirt and maintain a clean, well-groomed neat appearance.
• Offer whatever assistance guests may need.
• Act as a team member: show enthusiasm and help other staff to ensure guest satisfaction. Ask for help when you need it.
• Act as a role model for other staff.
  • Suggest improvements to managers to improve the quality of our guest service.
  • Time management is a must. The ability to complete tasks on a timely & professional manner.
• Be knowledgeable about Campbell's services and history, and Lake Chelan recreational opportunities, to answer guests' questions.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a variable-hour position, expected work hours are based on seasonal volume, business demand, and hours of operation. Weekends and holidays are also necessary. Must be flexible and willing to adapt schedule to meet business demands. This is an outdoor position, and applicants can expect to work long hours in variable weather conditions.
