Walia Law Firm is a Bay Area law firm with a strong reputation for dedicated client service and effective advocacy. Our practice focuses primarily on family law and criminal defense, and we are continuing to grow our family law team. Our office is based in Pleasanton, and this role will focus primarily on family law matters in Alameda County.

 

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney with 4+ years of family law experience to join our firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney who can independently manage family law matters, provide strong representation to clients, and contribute to a collaborative, growing practice.

 

The ideal candidate is confident in handling a family law caseload from start to finish, has courtroom experience, and is committed to delivering high-quality legal services with compassion and professionalism.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage a family law caseload independently from intake through resolution
  • Handle matters involving divorce, custody, visitation, support, property division, and domestic violence restraining orders
  • Draft pleadings, motions, declarations, settlement agreements, and other legal documents
  • Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trials
  • Conduct legal research and develop a case strategy
  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediation
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Maintain accurate case files and meet deadlines
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and firm leadership

 

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the California State Bar
  • 4+ years of family law experience required
  • Strong knowledge of California family law procedures and practice
  • Experience handling court appearances, hearings, and case management independently
  • Excellent legal writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Alameda County family law experience is a plus

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $160,000 - $200,000 annually , depending on experience and qualifications
