Director, Women's Philanthropy & Campaign

Position Overview: The Director, Women's Philanthropy & Campaign will serve as an essential member of the Center for Jewish Philanthropy of Greater Phoenix's Philanthropy Team to develop and implement fundraising strategies and programming to grow the annual campaign and plan, implement, and manage the Women's Philanthropy program of the CJP.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Women's Philanthropy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive women's philanthropy campaign plan and budget, in partnership with Vice President, Annual Campaign and lay leadership.
  • Secure new annual donors and deepen relationships with existing supporters.
  • Identify, recruit, train, and support volunteer leadership for Women's Philanthropy.
  • Manage delivery and implementation of Women's Philanthropy programming/events in coordination with Vice President, Marketing & Campaign Events.
  • Recruit participants for Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) women's programming/events.
  • Coordinate and strengthen relationships with National Women's Philanthropy and other JFNA professionals.
  • Conduct monthly status calls with Women's Philanthropy and Lion of Judah Chairs to discuss ongoing strategy and programming.
  • Develop event timelines and documentation to guide event flow, vendor responsibilities, etc.
  • Manage copy and content for the quarterly e-newsletter for Women's Philanthropy.

Fundraising/Annual Campaign

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of donors and prospects of $1,000 - $5,000 through in-person visits and other forms of direct personal contact in accordance with performance targets set by the philanthropy and leadership teams.
  • Use a variety of strategies such as cultivation events, personal solicitations, special projects, telemarketing, email, mail, and social media programs to secure Annual Giving support.
  • Support a culture of philanthropy by ensuring proper acknowledgement, recognition, and stewardship of donors.
  • Work interdepartmentally to craft special fundraising campaigns related to funding priorities.
  • Conduct research to identify prospective donors and create strategies to match prospects' interests to the priorities of the organization.
  • Make effective use of the donor management database and other organizational resources to ensure appropriate management of donors, prospects, Board members, and volunteers.
  • Attend community events to build and deepen relationships with prospective and current donors.
  • Solicit support and attendance for the organization's community events.
  • Perform other departmental-related duties as requested or assigned by the Vice President, Campaign.
  • Work with the Vice President, Annual Campaign to strategize & develop an annual fundraising plan and program event calendar.
  • Attend professional conferences throughout the year as suggested.

Schedule: This is a full-time position. Event attendance required in the evening hours and some weekends during the campaign season.

Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities/Characteristics

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or fundraising certification (CFRE) desirable.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of fundraising experience with a successful track record.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and commitment to the Jewish community, its practices, and values. Prior experience working for Jewish organizations is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building, and leadership skills to work effectively with a diverse body of lay and professional leaders, donors, prospects, nonprofit board members, vendors and volunteers.
  • Proven management skills and knowledge of traditional and innovative fundraising techniques.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills to express the mission and fundraising goals of the organization with clarity, passion, and persuasion.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion.
  • High degree of initiative and resourcefulness, with the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable to take on new responsibilities within a growing program.
  • Ability to manage tasks, prioritize multiple assignments, execute work in an accurate, efficient and timely manner, and track and manage multiple work streams at once.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external departments, donors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Experience developing and managing event budgets.
  • Familiarity with donor databases, Blackbaud and Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of and technical proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products.
  • Proficiency in professional usage of social media a plus.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $90,000 - $105,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Federal holidays and Jewish holidays, which vary year to year.
