Job Summary: FedEx, a global leader in logistics and express delivery services, is seeking motivated and reliable Casual Package Handlers to join our dynamic team. This on-call position offers flexible, variable hours to accommodate peak business demands. Casual Package Handlers play a vital part in ensuring FedEx continues to deliver on its promise of speed, reliability, and quality to customers worldwide. Key Responsibilities: Load and unload packages safely and efficiently using appropriate handling techniques. Sort, stage, and prepare shipments for delivery, adhering to operational procedures. Inspect packages for damages and report discrepancies or incidents to supervisors. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to ensure a safe and productive environment. Operate material handling equipment, including hand trucks, pallet jacks, and conveyors, in compliance with safety regulations. Adapt to variable work schedules and respond promptly to on-call assignments. Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets while maintaining high-quality standards. Follow all FedEx safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and protective equipment use. Required Skills and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs (or as required per operational guidelines). Strong physical stamina and endurance for extended periods of standing, walking, and bending. Basic communication skills to effectively follow instructions and interact with team members. Dependability, punctuality, and flexibility in accepting on-call assignments. Positive attitude with a commitment to teamwork and high-quality service. Experience: Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or package handling is preferred but not mandatory. Experience operating basic material handling equipment (pallet jacks, dollies, conveyors) is a plus. Working Hours: On-call, variable hours to meet operational needs. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and peak holiday periods. Casual status with no guaranteed minimum hours, providing the opportunity for supplemental income. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Understanding of safe lifting techniques and workplace safety practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to operational procedures. Team-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills.
