Emily is a Registered Dietitian. She completed her dietetic internship at California State University, Sacramento with the concentration in disease prevention and health promotion. Before the internship, Emily worked as a Registered Dietetic Technician at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center in Carson City, NV. She resides in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Emily grew up on an organic farm in Massachusetts where she spent most of her life farming before moving to Lake Tahoe eight years ago. In order to pursue her career in nutrition, she completed her B.S. in Nutrition at the University of Nevada, Reno and at the same time focused on her competitive skiing career as a big mountain skier.
As nutrition is an important component to our overall health, Emily also believes in being a well-rounded person. You can find her outdoors in the mountains whenever possible taking part in different activities such as skiing, mountain biking, and hiking with her wolf-dog Koda. She also enjoys fishing, cooking, gardening, traveling, and reading the latest research articles about nutrition.
Emily is very passionate about the roots of nutrition that begin on the farm and connecting that with the importance of preventative nutrition in disease prevention for all people.
